Integrated Gaiters became known to be highly effective on a field exercise involving long range target engagements and walking through steep terrain and ankle deep snow. The simple physical blocking of snow from getting down your boot was the simple lesson learned in that experience. Combined with a good pair of boots the fabric getting wet was made a non-issue. Using a single grommet, a length of elastic cord, and a cord lock buckle minimal materials are used since this is intended to improve any garment with a normal rolled hem.
